General VCES and SAES News
Congratulations
 |
I'm pleased to announce a promotion within SAES in the form of Joey, your new community manager!
Joey has been promoted to a member of the HQ team and will be taking responsibility for the management of the SAES community, including the gang system. No doubt it will take some time for Joey to get settled in, so please lend your support and patience to him.
Congratulations, Joey! Bumfisting all round! |

Dashboard signatures
 |
Update: Please see http://forum.vces.net/index.php?showtopic=5467 for information about the ongoing intermittent issues with dashboard.
---
Dashboard strikes again; and this time, it's signatures. Some of you already have signatures on your forum accounts showing off your statistics. However, thanks to the efforts of Brophy, Vision, Joey and Lance you now have a selection of signature layouts to pick from.
You can now change your signature style! Head over to http://dashboard.bastage.net and hit "Log In". Sign in with your usual MTA username and password and you're good to go.
If you haven't already inserted your banner, head over to dashboard and do a "Player Lookup". When you find your account, select the "Linkage" tab and then copy the image URL underneath "Signature for forums:" into an image tag in your signature.
Also please be aware that the code to draw the signatures is not finished yet - it works, but it's not perfect. Please let me know if you see any oddities.
Big thanks to Brophy, Vision, Joey and Lance for designing the templates. And thanks to you guys for continuing to play on SAES:RPG and for using dashboard. |

Email and Validation Problems
 |
We are aware that the site does not send emails and does not send out the validation emails for new accounts on the forum and it will be resolved upon update of this post.
For now, we will be approving accounts manually.
== BREAK ARTICLE ==
Update: This is now resolved and people should be receiving validation emails again. I've also approved all the accounts that were stuck in validation. |

Site relocation
 |
Owing to a number of faults over the last few days with the host for vces.net we have relocated the site and forums onto the dedicated server earlier than planned.
If you're seeing this post you are successfully connecting to the new server and you should have access to the forums again.
Thanks to Brophy for his assistance with scripting changes, database dumps and working to get the site ported as quickly as possible.
On another note, Vinnie, whoever is a long serving VCES/SAES member, has joined the moderating staff and will be monitoring and maintaining order on the forums.
P.S: If you use firefox, Brophy has made a persona for you to use. You can by clicking HERE |

Dashboard updates
 |
We have published a few changes to dashboard today. Namely, these are real time lists of houses owned be each player on their player home page, and a reworked server status tracker which won't disconnect from MTA.
I should add, at this point, that the dashboard "freezes" people have been noticing aren't linked to MTA 1.0.4 and were in fact an artifact of how I'd written the status engine. It's been re-written with Brophy's help and should behave itself a bit now.
We are currently adding notices ingame of players achievements, such as total arrests to date and such, so keep an eye out.
The next phase of development relates to some advanced player statistics (such as time spent playing each class), real time activity displays (such as ongoing turf wars) and information on the VCES.net site being piped from dashboard to show player counts and team balances.
As always, if you have any comments or suggestions please post in this thread. |
